Let Us be Going

I despair about my mistakes. I despair about the work I do, I’m not sure I like any of it. In relation to illustration I’ve come to start saying instead, “I’m practicing, this is just practice to learn.” I don’t know what I’m practicing for yet, but I’m learning. Hands are hard so I’m practicing.
This past month I’m grieved by my sleepiness on the hurt in our country. Oswald Chambers has some good words on this.
Rise, let us be going. —Matthew 26:46
“The disciples, in this instance, had done a downright unthinkable thing— they had gone to sleep instead of watching with Jesus. But our Lord came to them taking the spiritual initiative against their despair and said, in effect, “Get up, and do the next thing.” If we are inspired by God, what is the next thing? It is to trust Him absolutely and to pray on the basis of His redemption.
Never let the sense of past failure defeat your next step.”
