This is an illustration of 7 year old Finley. Her faith story was given to me by her mother Amanda Auer. Finley’s family went through a heartbreaking trauma when her 3 year old sister, Rowen, had heart failure. During this time, the family held tight to their faith in God, and God held tight to them. Despite the circumstances before them, they clung to the belief that God was in control and that He was Good. Rowen received a new heart and was healed. A miracle that affected the hearts of their entire family and many others.
Amanda has been encouraged by the confidence Finley has in God’s sovereign control. She wrote, “I will ask her if she was scared periodically to make sure I’m addressing her growing feelings. She continues to tell me ‘I wasn’t worried because I trusted God, and I knew He would take care of us.’ She has a tendency toward apprehension and anxiety - especially about new things and circumstances. The fact that this feels so far from her natural character just makes it feel all the more supernatural.”
I am praying this seedling of bold-rest and confidence in God and His power takes deep root in Finley’s heart and in ours.
